Kinetic Sand

By Kristen

Kinetic Sand

Love building sand castles on the beach and wish it could be summer all year long?  With Kinetic sand it’s like bringing the beach into your home, without all  the mess.  My parents gave my son a Kinetic sand set for Christmas last year.  As a child with special needs, it’s always hard to find toys that appeal to him and keep him interested.  They thought that this toy would be the perfect gift and that he would enjoy the sensory stimulation from it as well.

What We Like About It:

I have to admit that my daughter has taken over my son’s sand set.  She loves sitting at the kitchen counter and making all sorts of creations with it.  It’s great to use with molds to make castles or figures.

Unlike playdoh and clay, this sand doesn’t dry out if you leave it out.  I love that because no matter how well the kids clean-up, I always tend to find a little here or there.  With the Kinetic sand I can just pick it up and add it back to the bag.  That means that there isn’t any waste and I love that because I haven’t had to purchase more sand in 1 year.

And I think my favorite thing about this sand is that it doesn’t squish into the carpet.  Have you ever had a Play Doh mess where the kids have dropped some on the floor and it gets stuck in the carpet?  The nice thing about Kinetic sand is that because it’s grainy like regular sand, you can just vacuum up the mess without any hassle.  That makes this something that the kids and I both love! Them for the fun, and me for the cleanup.
